USGA rules will be used unless stated otherwise. If you have a question during the round, continue to play and the Commissioners will rule on it afterwards. All decisions by the commissioners will be final.
"Winter Rules" will apply as you can improve your lie in your own fairway
To speed up play, we will use the "Soft" out of bounds rule. This means that you can drop, with a stroke penalty, at the point you went out of bounds, rather than re-hitting from the original spot.
Rainouts will be called by the Commissioner by 2:00pm. If the league has not been canceled by 2:00pm, plan on showing up at the course. At that point, the decision will be made at the course.
Max Strokes per Hole: We will use Double Par + 1 (Example: On Par 4, pick up after the 8th stroke and score a 9).
Handicaps - Your handicaps will be the average of your rounds. Once you have 6 or more rounds, your handicap will be the average of the best 5 out of your last 6 rounds. (The first round of the year is assigned to you based on last years handicap. For new players, the commissioner will assign your first round base upon your expected level of play)
All subs playing for the first time should be assign a handicap by the commissioner. (If this is not possible and the opposing team agrees, they can select a handicap prior to the round beginning)
There will be 6 points available in scoring a match. See "Scoring a Match" note for specifics.
Effective 2012, during the regular season, a Sub or Subs can represent a team if no members of that team are available to play that week. During playoffs, at least 1 regular member of a team must be present or the match is a forfeit.
Please have the courtesy of informing an opponent if your team does not intend on showing up for a particular match. At the discretion of the Commissioners, a team may be removed from the league for forfeiting 3 times.
All matches must be played on Thursday. If you cannot make your team time, there is a possibility of playing at a later time or matching Scorecards. This is an arrangement to be worked out between the teams playing. A team does not have to agree with this arrangement. If an arrangement cannot be worked out, both teams must be there at their scheduled Tee Time.
Effective 2013, during the regular season, if one team has no one to represent them that week, the other team that does show up to play is automatically awarded the 2 Team points from that match. To earn the 4 remaining individual Stroke and Hole points for that week, the team needs to play their round and then match cards against a designated team from that week. During playoffs, the match is a forfeit if one team does not show up to play.
Scorecards should be turned in after the match. There will be folders in the bar to place your scorecards (next to cash register). Please include: Team Numbers, 1st and Last names of participants, Points per team on the card and the card must be signed by 1 member of each team. It is your responsibility to Score the Match, it is not the Commissioners responsibility. If you need assistance, there are plenty of people around to assist.
Once the scorecard has been signed, NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE. If it is wrong when you sign it, it will stay as is. Please make sure the score is totaled correctly and accurately prior to signing.
Please keep playing moving out there as it will be pretty congested with all being on one Tee this year. Dont waste too much time looking for lost balls. Pick up after you reach the max. All putts must be putted out unless the other team calls a "Gimme".
Knock Down Rules for Subs
Subs will be allowed in knock down rounds under the following conditions...
For teams in contention... (This includes all teams within 10 points of 3rd place.)
Only subs with at least three rounds recorded during the season will be eligible. (The initial round entered for handicap purposes does not count.)
For teams out of contention...(This includes all teams 10 points or more out of 3rd place.)
Subs with any amount of rounds will be eligible. |
